Which is where style consultant Liz Finkelstein and her company Mile High Style step in. If you can’t go straight to the Coach store for your next “me” purchase because you’re trying to stay on a budget to prepare for the next stock market crash, then we have just the eco-chic place for you to find your next “it” item! In 2002, English Retreads decided to take what the everyday consumer would normally see as trash and make it into a treasure. Heather English, of our own Boulder, Colorado, was searching for the next sustainably striking accessory to accompany her mountain lifestyle. Her company collects inner tubes from local truck stops and creates a thing of beauty. This low environmental impact conception is based on the idea that people, planet, and profit should be the bottom line of all products, and English Retreads...

This week’s article is about an idea so brilliant we are astounded that it took this long to come about. Let us set the scene: there is an upcoming party that will be attended by everyone you know, and therefore you have no other option but to look your most fabulous. You search resolutely for the perfect outfit, finding it just in time for the party. However, you quickly realize that since the party is only a few days away, there simply isn’t enough time to get your perfectly form-fitting, just-the-right-shade jeans hemmed to wear to the big event. Being vertically challenged (we can relate) doesn’t usually come with many dilemmas, except a fairly annoying one, which is that jeans are always way too long. There...

The sign is up! It must be official. The moment that we have been anxiously anticipating since we heard the news: Nordstrom Rack is finally opening a Denver location. March 25 is the official opening day, and boy, it will be a good one (for our wardrobe…not necessarily our checking account). As if we need to tell you, Nordstrom Rack carries the same designers and fabulous fashion that its mother ship does, but at 50-60% off the original prices. Not to mention, if you have some time to spend in their store you can usually find some amazing steals and deals. The Rack is the perfect place to find wardrobe staples, work clothes or the perfect dress for, say, The Kentucky Derby Party or the laundry list of upcoming summer weddings...

These leggings aren’t your typical teenybopper fashion statement. These jeans are a serious addition to your adult closet. They look and feel just like your everyday jeans, but they have that legging look. You can throw them on with your favorite boots or flats and any shirt you’d like. Does the thought of attending another overcrowded holiday craft fair, just to find worthy local children’s goods, make you want to run over the next person who’s a little slow across the street? You don’t have to go to the 4-H craft fair this year to purchase quality kids frills that support your own community. Ambajam, a local Denver company, sells baby clothing and accessories. Their blankets are so soft, and they even come away unscathed out of the wash. The child you buy this for will never be able to put it down. Besides having the most snuggly blankets ever imagined, their creative clothing style fits the Colorado child to perfection....

Winter is officially here, if the two feet of snow outside are any indication, and that means one thing: Sweaters! We all know that nothing ruins the look of skinny jeans, knee boots and a long georgeous turneck more than the nasty bulge of a belt buckle under that fantastic seasonal sweater. Not wearing a belt isn't always an option though and even then the flap of your jeans' button pops out and still ruins the lines of your outfit! Your worries are over as the invisible isABelt is here to save the day! Not only is it virtually undectable under your clothes, but because of the flat clasp design it's instantly sliming. You can wear your fitted top or long sweater over your jeans wihtout the buckle bulge or jeans button flap standing out. Each belt is...

Running late from a killer day at the office, you throw down your morning gym bag as you walk through the door. Fiddling through the mail, you trip over your dog with those new Tory Burch heels, just to see the time. You realize that you’re late for yet another birthday dinner. At least this one is at Il Posto, so you know the superior wine will be plentiful and soft burrata cheese is in your future! Out the door again, only to recognize you have no card or gift! Thank goodness you are going to be right near Tallulah Jones, and can stop on by on your way to dinner. Tallulah Jones is located perfectly on the corner of Park Ave and...

It seems there's a new boutique opening everyday, but not all of them have the right stuff to make it in the long run. Pine Creek Clothing Co. on Old South Gaylord Street does. A bright sign in front says, "Friends don't let friends shop chain stores," and you know that's the truth as soon as you walk in. This trendy, classy shop features everything from the perfect vacation dress to great jeans and hot accessories. Their inventory won't be found at any shopping mall stores, and you won't sit down next to anyone else at happy hour only to see that they're wearing your shirt! As an added bonus, the Sarah's, formerly of Sarah boutique on Old South Gaylord, have come on as consultants. Just ask to see...
