Wake up, sleepyhead. Rise & Shine Biscuit Kitchen and Café in Crestmoor/Hilltop just opened a second location in the Highlands last week. They are calling their Highlands location an outpost (as it partners with the Basil Doc’s Pizzeria), but they promise it's still the same doughy goodness. Who doesn't love biscuits for breakfast and pizza for dinner!
With a different biscuit flavor featured each day, like Nutella and Caramel Bacon (today's speciality!), to name a few, you will never be disappointed. They make them as simple as served with a dollop of honey, or turn them into an entire chicken sandwich. And every Friday is Beer Biscuit Friday, presented by Great Divide Brewery.
If you have any Southern roots, you’ll truly appreciate this eatery, as it’s an invention from a man after your own heart. Seth Rubin created his biscuit business in order to provide Denverites with the Southern buttermilk biscuits he missed from his hometown of Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Drop by either if their locations to pair your morning biscuit with a coffee beforing heading out for the day, or stop by for a mid-day break and grab lunch.
P.S. Another brewery is set to grace the LoHi neighborhood this summer. Denver Beer Co. was spotted moving their copper tanks into an old auto repair shop just last week. The brewery plans to have a seven-barrel brew house, a tasting room and big glass garage doors opening out into a beer garden. Stay tuned for more information about their opening through their Facebook
updates.
